Mongdol, a cultural shelter in Buk-gu, Ulsan, will hold an individual exhibition of Urban Sketchers Cho Hye-jung as an exhibition in December.
Under the theme of Fate, this individual exhibition will showcase 15 works, including familiar alleyways, rainy day scenery, and sketching self-portraits.
Urban Sketches began in 2007 when Seattle journalist and illustrator Gabriel Campanario created an "online forum for all sketchers who like to draw." It mainly paints the areas where the artists themselves live or visit in the field.
"Urban Sketch is not a painting that looks at pictures or relies on memories, but rather a genre that has a greater meaning in daily records than in indoor and outdoor scenes," Cho said. "In particular, we can show the world by sharing pictures online."
Cho, who has been working as Urban Sketchers for four years in Ulsan, is guiding Urban Sketch works at the Buk-gu Lifelong Learning Center and the complex cultural space Oseason. He held a number of group exhibitions and individual exhibitions, and also drew illustrations for Jang Se-ryeon's book, "To Your First Day," in an essay by a children's writer.
