[시사뉴스 강영진 기자] 대구시 군사시설 통합이전 사업에 본격적으로 뛰어든 군위군은 22일 보훈·안보 단체(민주평통 군위군협의회 외 11개 단체) 대표들과 간담회를 개최하였다.
이날 간담회에서 군위군으로부터 군부대 통합이전 추진 현황, 유치 전략 및 주민의 여론에 대하여 의견을 주고 받았다.
보훈안보단체 대표들은 군위는 한국전쟁 때 낙동강전투와 더불어 더 이상 물러설 수 없는 최후의 격전지로서 온몸으로 전화를 막아냈으며 지명에서도 군사 군, 위세 위 군위(軍威)는 예부터 군사시설과 인연이 많은 군사 요충지로서 군부대 이전의 최적지라며 의견을 모았다.
단체 대표들은 “군사시설 유치의 경제적 파급효과나 인구유입은 다른 어떤 사업보다 클 것으로 예상되고 단체 회원들도 긍정적인 반응이다. 앞으로 군사시설 유치를 위해 보훈안보단체에서 힘을 보태겠다”고 지지했다.
지난 3일에도 이전 제안 부지가 있는 우보면 이장회의에서 대구시 군부대 통합이전에 대해 설명하고 소멸 위험지수와 노령화 지수가 높은 우리군 유치의 필요성에 대해 공감하며 앞으로의 추진 계획에 대하여 논의했다.
군위군은 국군 부대 4곳과 미군 부대 3곳을 통합 이전을 통해 젊은 군인과 가족들의 유입으로 인구구조를 획기적으로 바꿀 수 있는 전환점이 되고, 군사시설 유치와 대구경북 통합신공항이 동시에 들어오면서 이에 따른 인구 증가와 편익기반 조성 등 대규모 인프라 확충을 통하여 획기적인 군위의 발전을 이룰 수 있다고 군부대 통합이전의 필요성을 피력했다.

Representatives of veterans' security groups said, "The military guard was the last battleground that could no longer retreat from the battle of the Nakdonggang River during the Korean War, and the military service and the military service were the best place to relocate."
Representatives of the group said, "The economic ripple effect or population inflow of military facilities is expected to be greater than any other project, and the group members are also positive." "In the future, veterans' security organizations will help attract military facilities," he said.
On the 3rd, at the meeting of heads of Ubo-myeon, where the proposed site is located, they explained the relocation of military units in Daegu, sympathized with the need to attract South Korean troops with a high extinction risk index and aging index, and discussed future plans.
The military said that the relocation of four military units and three U.S. military units would be a turning point for the demographic structure to change drastically due to the influx of young soldiers and their families, and the expansion of large-scale infrastructure such as population growth and convenience foundation.
