[시사뉴스 정윤철 기자] 울산시 울주군보건소가 다음달 31일까지 지역 내 만 60세 이상 기초생활수급자를 대상으로 대상포진 무료 예방접종을 실시한다고 21일 밝혔다.
이번 무료 접종은 대상포진 발병률 감소, 조기 예방과 더불어 취약계층의 의료비 부담을 줄이기 위해 추진됐다.
대상포진은 신경절을 따라 홍반성 구진이 수포로 변하는 형태로 극심한 통증이 수반되는 질환이며, 주로 면역력이 낮은 고령의 환자에게 발생한다.
특히 60세 이상 대상포진 환자의 40~70%가 합병증이 나타나 예방이 무엇보다 중요하지만 평균 예방접종 비용이 14만원에 달해 저소득층에게는 경제적 부담이 크다.
접종 대상은 울주군에 거주하며 주민 등록된 만 60세 이상(1962. 12. 31. 이전 출생자) 기초생활수급자 중 대상포진 접종력이 없는 경우다.
기초생활수급자 증명서와 주민등록증을 지참해 보건소 및 남부통합보건지소, 범서보건지소로 방문하면 대상포진 무료 예방접종을 받을 수 있다.
울주군보건소 관계자는 “경제적 부담으로 예방접종을 하지 못해 대상포진이 걸리는 사람이 없도록 사업을 적극 홍보하겠다”며 “대상자로 통보받은 주민께서는 즉시 접종을 하시기 바란다”고 당부했다.

In particular, 40-70% of shingles patients aged 60 or older have complications, so prevention is most important, but the average vaccination cost reaches 140,000 won, which is a high economic burden for low-income families.
The subject of vaccination is those who live in Ulju-gun and are registered as residents aged 60 or older (born before December 31, 1962) who do not have a history of shingles vaccination.
If you visit the public health center, the Nambu Integrated Health Center, and the Beomseo Health Center with your basic living recipient certificate and resident registration card, you can get free vaccination for shingles.
An official at the Ulju-gun Health Center said, "We will actively promote the project so that no one gets shingles because they cannot be vaccinated due to economic burdens," and added, "Residents who have been notified as targets should be vaccinated immediately."
