[시사뉴스 강영진 기자] 경주시가 건천읍 대곡리 주민들의 오랜 숙원사업이었던 대곡교 노후교량 재가설 공사를 준공했다고 27일 밝혔다.
경주시는 지난 26일 건천읍 대곡교 재가설 현장에서 주낙영 경주시장을 비롯한 이상기 건천이장협의회 단장, 지역구 시·도의원 및 주민 100여명이 참석한 가운데 ‘대곡교 개체공사 준공식’을 개최했다.
이날 준공식은 주민숙원 사업이었던 만큼 건천읍 대곡리 주민 주관으로 열렸다.
경주시에 따르면 대곡교는 군도6호선(건천읍 대곡리~용명리) 내 위치한 교량으로 기존 노후 교량을 해체하고 길이 45.8m, 접속도로 150m의 교량을 재가설하는 사업으로 총 사업비 23억원이 투입됐다.
공사는 지난해 4월 착공에 들어가 19개월 만에 준공됐다.
기존 대곡교는 2019년 10월 실시된 정밀안전진단에서 D등급을 받아, 그간 대형 차량의 통행을 제한하는 등 차량과 보행자 통행에 어려움을 겪어왔다.
이에 경주시는 이듬해인 2020년 8월 행정안전부로부터 재난특별교부세 12억원을 확보하면서 토지보상과 실시설계 등 교량 개체공사에 필요한 행정절차를 조속히 추진할 수 있었다.
경주시는 대곡교 개체공사 준공으로 주민들이 안심하고 통행할 수 있을 것으로 기대하고 있다.
주낙영 경주시장은 “대곡교 개체공사 준공 이외에도 현재 추진 중인 지역현안 사업을 조기에 준공해 주민숙원 사업 해결에 행정력을 집중할 것”이라고 강조했다.
Gyeongju City announced on the 27th that it has completed the reconstruction of the old bridge of Daegokgyo Bridge, a long-cherished project for residents of Daegok-ri, Geoncheon-eup.
Gyeongju City held a "Daegokgyo Individual Construction Completion Ceremony" at the site of the reconstruction of Daegokgyo Bridge in Geoncheon-eup on the 26th, attended by Gyeongju Mayor Joo Nak-young and 100 local city and provincial councilors and residents.
The completion ceremony was held under the supervision of residents of Daegok-ri, Geoncheon-eup, as it was a resident-wanted project.
According to Gyeongju City, Daegokgyo Bridge is a bridge located in Gundo Line 6 (Daegok-ri, Geoncheon-eup, Yongmyeong-ri), and a total project cost of 2.3 billion won was invested to dismantle the existing old bridge and rebuild the 45.8m long and 150m access road.
Construction began in April last year and was completed in 19 months.
The existing Daegokgyo Bridge received a D grade in a precision safety diagnosis conducted in October 2019, and has been having difficulty in passing vehicles and pedestrians, such as restricting the passage of large vehicles.
Accordingly, Gyeongju City secured 1.2 billion won in disaster special grant tax from the Ministry of Public Administration and Security in August 2020, and was able to carry out administrative procedures necessary for bridge construction such as land compensation and implementation design as soon as possible.
Gyeongju City expects residents to pass with confidence with the completion of the Daegokgyo Bridge individual construction.
Gyeongju Mayor Joo Nak-young emphasized, "In addition to the completion of the Daegokgyo individual construction, we will focus our administrative power on solving the resident's long-cherished project by completing the local pending project early."
