[시사뉴스 강영진 기자] 대구시는 대구-히로시마 간 자매결연 25주년을 기념해 주일본대한민국대사관, 주히로시마대한민국총영사관, 히로시마시와 함께 11월 22일(화) 오후 6시에 자매도시 일본 히로시마시(국제회의장 피닉스홀)에서 ‘제9회 한일문화카라반 in 히로시마’를 공동 개최했다.
‘한일문화카라반’은 한일 양국의 지방자치단체 간의 문화행사를 통해 양국의 친선과 공동 발전을 도모하기 위한 행사로 대구와 히로시마가 올해로 자매결연 25주년(1997년 5월 2일 체결)을 맞이함에 따라 주일본대한민국대사관과 주히로시마대한민국총영사관의 제안으로 추진하게 됐다.
본 행사에서 대구시는 대금산조, 소고춤(권명화류), 사물판굿, 3가지 전통문화예술 공연을 선보였으며, 히로시마를 비롯한 일본인 대구 관광객 유치를 위해 관광홍보부스를 운영했다.
이를 위해 김종한 행정부시장, 이창환 대구예총(대구예술문화단체총연합회) 회장, 공연 출연진을 비롯한 14명은 11월 21일(월) 일본 히로시마로 출발했다. 다음날인 22일(화) 오전에는 히로시마시청을 공식 방문해 코로나19 팬데믹으로 끊어졌던 양 도시 간 대면 교류의 시작을 알리고 향후 관계 발전을 위해 의견교환을 했으며, 오후 6시부터는 국제회의장에서 본 행사를 개최했다.
김종한 대구시 행정부시장은 “히로시마시와의 자매결연 25주년을 기념하는 행사라는 점, 2020년 초 코로나19 확산 이후 해외 자매·우호협력도시와의 첫 공식 국제교류행사라는 점에서 그 의미가 깊다”며, “또한, 히로시마시민들이 대구의 우수한 문화예술을 오랜만에 직접 접하고 대구관광에도 흥미를 가질 수 있는 좋은 기회가 됐길 바란다”고 말했다.
To commemorate the 25th anniversary of the sisterhood relationship between Daegu and Hiroshima, Daegu co-hosted the 9th Korea-Japan Culture Caravan in Hiroshima, Japan, at 6 p.m. on November 22 (Tue), along with the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Japan, the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Hiroshima.
As Daegu and Hiroshima marked the 25th anniversary of the sisterhood relationship (signed on May 2, 1997) through cultural events between local governments, the Korea-Japan Cultural Caravan was proposed by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Japan and the Consulate General in Hiroshima.
At the event, Daegu City presented three traditional cultural and artistic performances: Daegeum Sanjo, Sogo Dance (Kwonmyeonghwaryu), Samulpangut, and operated a tourism promotion booth to attract Japanese tourists from Daegu, including Hiroshima.
To this end, 14 people, including Vice Mayor Kim Jong-han, Daegu Arts Association Chairman Lee Chang-hwan, and performers, departed for Hiroshima, Japan, on November 21 (Mon). On the morning of the 22nd (Tue), the next day, he officially visited Hiroshima City Hall to announce the start of face-to-face exchanges between the two cities, which had been cut off by the COVID-19 pandemic, and exchanged opinions for future relations.
Daegu City Administration Mayor Kim Jong-han said, "It is meaningful in that it is the 25th anniversary of the sisterhood relationship with Hiroshima City and is the first official international exchange event with overseas sister and friendship cooperation cities since the spread of COVID-19 in early 2020."
