[시사뉴스 강영진 기자] 대구 군부대 영천 유치를 위해 영천시민들이 본격적으로 앞장선다.
10일 영천시청 대회의실에서 대구 군부대 통합이전 유치를 위해 각계각층 주요 인사, 시민 등 80여 명이 참석한 가운데, ‘대구 군부대 유치 추진위 발대식’이 열렸다.
이날 행사는 각계각층 시민대표자들이 나서서 그 간 대구 군부대 통합이전 유치 추진 상황과 군부대 유치의 중요성에 대한 시민 공감대를 형성하고, 시민들이 주도적으로 ‘대구 군부대 유치 추진위원회’를 구성하여, 시민중심 유치활동의 본격적인 Start를 알리고자 개최됐다.
행사는 ▲대구 군부대 통합이전 유치 추진현황 설명, ▲‘대구 군부대 유치 추진위원회’ 위원장 및 임원 선출, ▲향후 운영 방향 및 위원회 의견수렴 등 자체 회의 실시, ▲군부대 유치를 위한 퍼포먼스 순으로 진행됐다.
대구 군부대 유치 추진위원회 임원진은 공동위원장으로 박봉규, 정서진 위원장이 추대되었고, 이어 고문, 부위원장, 사무국장, 재무국장 등 주요 임원을 선출한 후, 향후 군부대 유치를 위한 다양한 활동을 전개하기로 의견을 모았다.
박봉규 추진위원장은 “과거 경북도청, 혁신도시, 통합신공항 유치를 시도했으나, 고배를 마신 경험이 있다. 정서진 위원장과 임원들, 각계각층 대표자분들과 손발을 잘 맞추어 대구 군부대 영천 유치를 성공적으로 이끌겠다”는 포부를 밝혔다.
발대식 후 퍼포먼스에서는 참석자들이 자체 제작한 어깨띠를 두르고 다 함께 ‘대구 군부대는 영천으로!’라는 구호를 제창했다.
향후 영천시 대구 군부대 유치는 추진위원회가 앞장서서, 임진왜란 ‧ 한국전쟁 당시 군사적 요충지, 대도시 인접성, 사통팔달 교통로, 넓은 부지 등 영천이 가진 다양한 강점을 내세우며 활동을 전개할 전망이다.

Executives of the Daegu Military Unit Attraction Promotion Committee agreed to conduct various activities to attract military units in the future after selecting key executives such as advisors, vice-chairpersons, secretaries, and finance directors were appointed as co-chairpersons.
Park Bong-kyu, chairman of the promotion committee, said, "In the past, we tried to attract Gyeongbuk Provincial Office, innovative city, and integrated new airport, but we had a hard time." "We will successfully lead the Daegu military unit's Yeongcheon attraction in cooperation with Chairman Jeong Jeong-jin, executives, and representatives from all walks of life," he expressed his ambition.
At the performance after the launching ceremony, the participants wore their own shoulder straps and sang the slogan "Daegu Military Unit to Yeongcheon!" together.
In the future, the promotion committee will take the lead in attracting Daegu military units in Yeongcheon City, and it is expected to carry out activities with various strengths such as military hubs, large city adjacencies, all-out transportation routes, and large sites during the Imjin War and Korean War.
