[시사뉴스 강영진 기자] 대구시교육청(교육감 강은희)이 주최하고 대구중등수학교육연구회가 운영하는 제14회 블렌디드 대구수학교육학술제가 10월 29일(토)부터 11월 5일(토)까지 8일간 ‘Powerful AMAZing Math(AI, Metaverse, AR, Zeal이 융합되어 더욱 강력한 수학)’ 라는 주제로 온라인과 대구과학고등학교에서 열렸다.
대구수학교육학술제는 2009년에 수학교사들의 아름다운 나들이라는 주제로 첫 걸음을 내디딘 후 올해로 14년째이다. 코로나19로 인해 2020년부터 2021년까지 비대면으로 운영되었으나 3년 만에 현장 대면행사도 함께 개최된 지난 11월 5일(토)에는 학생·학부모·교원 등 4,000여명 이상 참여하였으며 수학에 대한 높은 흥미와 관심을 보였다.
8일간 진행된 수학교육학술제는 대구중등수학교육연구회에서 개발한 메타버스인 ‘ZEP-2022 대구수학교육학술제(https://zep.us/play/8GBV9w)’에서 올해 행사계획과 결과물, 2021년 자료 등도 상시적으로 볼 수 있어 학교에서 앞으로 다양하게 활용할 수 있도록 했다.
이번 행사는 ▲수학교과 체험부스, ▲수학교육활동 나눔전시, ▲매쓰톡(수학으로 말하다) 및 전국학생통계활용대회 수상작 발표, ▲수학 학습 코칭, ▲수학탐구대회, ▲수학대중화강연, ▲수학이벤트(수학골든벨, 스틱밤도미노), ▲학생 수업발표전 등 8개 부문으로 구성되어 있다.
▲수학교과 체험부스는 관람객이 체험을 통해 수학 원리를 탐구할 수 있도록 학생들이 직접 설명하며 안내한다.
학생활동에서는 ▲매쓰톡(수학으로 말하다) 대회에 참가한 학생이 자율적으로 정한 수학주제를 3분 이내에 표현한 우수 동영상 작품을 현장 대면 발표로 들을 수 있고, ▲2022년 전국학생통계활용대회에서 입상한 대구 학생의 작품 감상과 수상자의 생생한 경험 발표를 통해 추후 준비하려는 학생과 교사에게 도움을 제공한다.
▲수학 학습 코칭은 현직 교사가 수학에 어려움을 겪는 학생에게 상담을 통해 자신감을 향상시켜 주는 최고 인기 프로그램으로 매년 조기 마감되며, ▲수학탐구대회에서는 LOP(Learn on the playground), 데스모스 구슬 굴리기, 알지오매스 디자인하기, 카프라 구조물 만들기 등 다양한 방면에서 수학적 사고력을 키울 수 있는 장이 펼쳐진다.
이번 수학교육학술제 현장 대면 행사에는 ‘4차 산업혁명, 빅데이터, 인공지능 그리고 수학’이라는 주제로 국가수리과학연구소 김현민 소장님이 전하는 수학 대중화 강연도 있으며, 강연 내용을 기반으로 한 수학골든벨을 통해 강연에 몰입할 수 있도록 구성했다.
강은희 교육감은 “오랜만의 현장 대면 행사를 통해 수학으로 친구들과 소통하며 수학에 몰입하는 즐거운 시간이 되길 기대한다”고 말했다.
Hosted by the Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Kang Eun-hee) and run by the Daegu Secondary Mathematics Education Research Association, the 14th Blended Daegu Mathematics Education Festival was held at the online and Daegu Science High School for eight days from October 29 (Sat) to November 5 (Sat).
This is the 14th year of the Daegu Mathematics Education Academic Festival since taking its first step under the theme of Beautiful Outing of Mathematics Teachers in 2009. Due to COVID-19, it was operated non-face-to-face from 2020 to 2021, but more than 4,000 students, parents, and teachers participated on November 5 (Sat), when on-site face-to-face events were also held in three years, showing high interest and interest in mathematics.
The eight-day math education academic festival will also be available at the ZEP-2022 Daegu Mathematical Education Academic Festival (https://zep.us/play/8GBV9w)'), a metaverse developed by the Daegu Secondary Mathematical Education Research Association, for this year's event plans, results, and 2021 materials.
The event consists of eight categories: ▲ Mathematics Education Activity Sharing Exhibition, ▲ Mathematics Talk (speaking in mathematics), ▲ Mathematics Learning Coaching, ▲ Mathematics Exploration Contest, ▲ Mathematics Popularization Lecture, ▲ Mathematics Event (Math Golden Bell, Stick Bam Domino), and ▲ Student Class Presentation.
The ▲ Mathematics Curriculum Experience Booth is provided by students so that visitors can explore the principles of mathematics through experience.
In student activities, students who participate in the ▲ Math Talk competition can listen to excellent video works expressing the mathematical theme voluntarily in less than three minutes, and ▲ It provides help to students and teachers who want to prepare for the future through appreciation of Daegu students' works and vivid experience.
▲Math learning coaching is the most popular program that improves confidence through counseling for students with math difficulties. ▲ The math exploration competition offers a variety of ways to develop mathematical thinking skills, including LOP (Learn on the playground), Desmos ball rolling, Algiomass design, and capra structure.
Under the theme of "Fourth Industrial Revolution, Big Data, Artificial Intelligence and Mathematics," Kim Hyun-min, director of the National Institute of Mathematical Sciences, also gave a popularized lecture on mathematics, which was organized to immerse himself in the lecture through the math golden bell.
Superintendent Kang Eun-hee said, "We hope that it will be a fun time to communicate with friends through math and immerse themselves in math through field-to-face events after a long time."
