[시사뉴스 강영진 기자] ‘대구 국제 미래모빌리티엑스포가(이하 2022 DIFA)’가 10월 27일(목)부터 29일(토)까지 사흘간의 바쁜 일정을 마무리하고 성황리에 폐막했다.

올해 행사는 민선8기 ‘미래 모빌리티 중심도시’로서의 산업재편을 대외에 천명하는 자리인 동시에 미래를 향한 지역기업들의 치열한 도전과 혁신을 확인할 수 있는 뜻깊은 계기가 됐다.

엑스코 동관을 가득 채운 전시장에는 사흘 동안 6만여 명의 관람객이 찾았고 미국, 독일, 중국, 일본 등 18개국 56명의 바이어가 참여한 수출상담회는 402백만불의 수출상담과 124백만불의 현장 계약 체결 성과를 냈다. 이는 전년 대비 45%나 증가한 수치로 고물가·고금리 등으로 어려움을 겪던 지역 자동차부품업계에 활기를 불어넣었다. 현대모비스, 현대위아 등 국내 바이어 25명이 참여한 국내 상담회에서도 563억원의 구매상담과 161억원의 현장 계약 체결이 이루어졌다.

무엇보다, 10월 27일(목), 28일(금) 양일간 UAM에서 첨단항공모빌티에 이르는 폭넓은 협력관계를 국내외 유수의 기업들과 구축하고 민선8기 홍준표 시장이 역점적으로 추진하고 있는 미래산업 산업 재배치를 위한 강한 동력을 확보하게 됐다.

27일(목) 업무협약을 체결한 SKT, 한화시스템, 한국공항공사, 티맵모빌리티는 명실상부 K-UAM 그랜드챌린지 사업의 드림팀이며, 28일(금) 대구시와 업무협약을 맺은 벨 텍스트론은 세계 최초로 민간용 헬기를 개발한 미국 항공우주 전문 제조기업이다. 이들 기업과의 협력을 통해 대구시는 지방도시 최초로 대구경북통합신공항과 연계한 UAM 실증-시범도시-상용화 3단계를 선도적으로 추진하고 국내 UAM 산업지도를 바꿀 것으로 기대하고 있다.

DIFA 개막식을 찾은 이스라엘의 아키바토르 대사는 홍준표 시장과의 환담을 통해 “이스라엘이라는 작은 나라가 4개의 기업과 함께 DIFA에 참가하게 된 원동력은 이스라엘의 혁신과 대한민국의 기술이 접목되었기 때문”이라면서, “대구경북통합신공항 건설과 연계한 UAM 허브의 성공적인 조성을 위해 대구시와 이스라엘 기업과의 협업을 제안하며 홍준표 시장을 이스라엘에 초대하고 싶다”고 말했다.

이에 화답해 홍준표 대구시장은 “이스라엘은 작은 나라가 아니라 국민들의 애국심, 단결성, 근면성으로 뭉친 아주 크고 강한 나라”라며, “올해 말까지 대구 미래산업 50년 먹거리 밑그림을 다 그리고 난 뒤 이스라엘을 한번 방문하고 싶다”고 말했다.

DIFA 전시장에는 지역기업들의 도전과 혁신도 잘 살펴볼 수 있었다. 내연기관차 부품을 생산하던 PHC, 삼보모터스는 수소연료전지드론, 초경량화부품을 활용한 초소형 콘셉트카를 선보이며 미래산업 육성 기업으로의 위풍당당한 전환을 알리고 있었으며, 이래AMS는 코란도의 전기차 이모션에 공급하는 배터리팩을 선보였다. E3 모빌리티는 지역기업과의 협력을 통해 부품 국산화율이 95%에 이르고 글로벌 브랜드에 성능이 뒤지지 않는 ‘메이드인대구’ 전기 오토바이를 선보이고 있었다.

홍준표 대구시장은 “2022 DIFA는 대구가 섬유도시에서 미래모빌리티 중심도시로 새롭게 출발하는 것을 알리는 출정식”이라며, “앞으로 대구를 대한민국 미래모빌리티산업의 선도도시로 조성하는 데 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.

This year's event was a meaningful opportunity to confirm the fierce challenges and innovations of local companies toward the future while proclaiming industrial reorganization as a "future mobility center city" for the 8th popular election.

More than 60,000 visitors visited the exhibition hall filled with Exco Donggwan for three days, and 56 buyers from 18 countries, including the U.S., Germany, China and Japan, participated in export consultations worth 402 million dollars and signed on-site contracts worth 124 million dollars. This is an increase of 45% compared to the previous year, revitalizing the local auto parts industry, which had been suffering from high prices and high interest rates. At a domestic consultation meeting involving 25 domestic buyers, including Hyundai Mobis and Hyundai Wia, 56.3 billion won in purchase counseling and 16.1 billion won in on-site contracts were also signed.

Above all, for two days on October 27 (Thu) and 28 (Fri), it will establish a wide range of cooperative relationships from UAM to high-tech aviation mobility with leading domestic and foreign companies and secure strong power for the relocation of future industries that the 8th popular Hong Joon Pyo market is focusing on.

SKT, Hanwha Systems, Korea Airports Corporation, and T-Map Mobility, which signed a business agreement on the 27th (Thursday), are the dream teams of the K-UAM Grand Challenge business, and Bell Textron, which signed a business agreement with Daegu City on the 28th (Friday), is the world's first U.S. aerospace manufacturer to develop a private helicopter. Through cooperation with these companies, Daegu City expects to lead the third stage of UAM demonstration, pilot city, and commercialization in connection with Daegu-Gyeongbuk Integrated New Airport for the first time in a local city and change the domestic UAM industry map.

Israel's Ambassador Akibator, who visited the DIFA opening ceremony, said in a friendly talk with Hong Joon Pyo Mayor, "The reason why Israel's small country participated in DIFA with four companies is because of the combination of Israel's innovation and South Korea's technology."

In response, Daegu Mayor Hong Joon Pyo said, "Israel is not a small country, but a very large and strong country united by the patriotism, unity, and diligence of the people," adding, "I want to visit Israel once after drawing a 50-year food blueprint for the Daegu future industry by the end of this year."

The DIFA exhibition hall also showed the challenges and innovations of local companies. PHC and Sambo Motors, which used to produce internal combustion engine parts, introduced ultra-small concept cars using hydrogen fuel cell drones and ultra-lightweight parts to announce a grand transition to a future industry. Since then, AMS has introduced battery packs to electric vehicle emulsion in Korando. Through cooperation with local companies, E3 Mobility was introducing a "Made in Daegu" electric motorcycle with a 95% localization rate and no inferior performance to global brands.

Hong Joon Pyo Daegu Mayor said, "The 2022 DIFA is an opening ceremony to announce Daegu's new start from a textile city to a future mobility hub city," adding, "We will do our best to make Daegu a leading city in the future mobility industry in Korea."
