[시사뉴스 강영진 기자] 공항 후적지의 미래 모습을 엿볼 수 있는 정책토론회가 열린다.
대구 동구청(구청장 윤석준)은 오는 24일 오후3시, 아양아트센터 아양홀에서 ‘공항후적지, 미래모빌리티와 첨단산업이 융합된 스마트 도시!’를 주제로 전문가 정책토론회를 개최한다.
동구 최대 현안이자, 대구전체 발전을 견인할 공항후적지 개발 사업에 대한 전문가 의견을 수렴, 동구 주민들 공감대 형성, 후적지 미래 비전을 제시하는 자리다.
토론회는 주제발표, 토론, 질의응답 순서로 진행된다. 주제발표는 김남용 대구 동구청 미래정책실장과 송교원 국민대 미래모빌리티학과 교수가 맡는다. 김 실장은 대구경북통합신공항 건설과 공항후적지 개발사업 추진경과에 대해 설명을 할 예정이며, 특히 지난 9월 동구청에서 자체 여론조사 전문기관에 위탁한 공항후적지 개발에 대한 주민설문조사 결과도 발표한다.
송 교수는 ‘미래모빌리티 선도도시 대구, UAM 도입 필요성과 정책방향’이라는 주제로 ▲UAM 산업 시장전망과 글로벌 트랜드 ▲전국 지자체 동향 ▲공항후적지가 가진 UAM 특화도시가 될 수 있는 최적의 입지로서의 조건 등에 대해 발표한다.
이어지는 2부에는 전문가 토론이 마련됐다. 황기연 전(前) 한국교통연구원장이 좌장을 맡으며, 김현덕 경북대 전자공학부 교수, 전정규 한화시스템 UAM 사업전략팀장, 한근수 대구경북연구원 연구위원, 이석주 한국교통연구원 연구위원이 패널로 참여한다.
이들은 도심항공교통(UAM), 자율주행, 스마트 물류, 이동서비스 등 글로벌 핵심 성장 동력으로 중요성이 커지고 있는 모빌리티 인프라를 공항후적지 개발의 계획 단계부터 반영할 필요성에 대해 이야기 할 예정이다. 또, 이에 따른 지자체의 역할, 첨단산업 유치, 관광·상업 분야와의 연계성 모색 등 지역발전을 견인할 다양한 의견도 개진한다.
대구 동구청은 이번 토론회를 계기로 공항 이전사업의 경과와 방향성, 미래가치를 주민과 함께 공유해 성공적인 추진을 위한 역량을 결집할 방침이다. 또, 전문가 발제와 토론을 통해 제시된 다양한 의견을 면밀히 검토해 공항후적지 개발과 연계한 지역발전 계획을 선제적으로 준비해 나갈 계획이다.
윤석준 동구청장은 “공항후적지 개발에 있어 주민들의 소중한 의견을 들어보는 자리다. 210만 평의 공항후적지를 비롯해 인접지역이 미래모빌리티 인프라를 바탕으로 한 글로벌 관광·상업·첨단산업지구가 조성된다면 동구를 넘어 대구·경북 전체에 새로운 성장거점이 마련될 것이라고 확신한다. 토론회를 계기로 공항후적지 개발에 차질이 없도록 하겠다”고 말했다.

Daegu Dong-gu Office (District Mayor Yoon Seok-joon) will hold an expert policy debate at Ayang Hall of Ayang Art Center at 3 p.m. on the 24th under the theme of "Airport Trace, Smart City that Converges Future Mobility and High-tech Industry!"
It is the largest issue in Dong-gu, and it is a place to gather expert opinions on the airport's successor development project that will drive the overall development of Daegu, form a consensus among Dong-gu residents, and present a future vision of the successor site.
The debate will be held in the order of topic presentation, discussion, and question and answer. The topic presentation will be made by Kim Yong-yong, head of the future policy office of Dong-gu Office in Daegu, and Song Kyo-won, a professor of future mobility at Kookmin University. Kim will explain the progress of the construction of Daegu-Gyeongbuk Integrated New Airport and the development of airport trace sites, especially the results of a survey of residents on the development of airport trace sites commissioned by Dong-gu Office in September.
Under the theme of "Future Mobility Leading City Daegu, Need to Introduce UAM and Policy Direction," Professor Song will present the ▲ UAM Industrial Market Outlook and global trends ▲ national local governments trends ▲ conditions as the best location to become a UAM-specialized city.
In the second part, an expert discussion was arranged. Hwang Ki-yeon, former head of the Korea Transportation Research Institute, will chair the panel, with Kim Hyun-deok, a professor of electronic engineering at Kyungpook National University, Jeon Jeong-gyu, head of Hanwha System's UAM business strategy team, Han Geun-soo, a researcher at Daegu Gyeongbuk Research Institute, and Lee Seok-joo.
They will talk about the need to reflect mobility infrastructure, which is becoming increasingly important as global core growth engines such as urban air transportation (UAM), autonomous driving, smart logistics, and mobile services, from the planning stage of airport tracking development. In addition, various opinions will be expressed to drive regional development, such as the role of local governments, attracting high-tech industries, and seeking connections with tourism and commercial sectors.
With this debate, the Daegu Dong-gu Office plans to share the progress, direction, and future value of the airport relocation project with residents to unite its capabilities for successful implementation. In addition, it plans to carefully review various opinions presented through expert presentations and discussions to prepare a regional development plan in connection with the development of airport traces.
Yoon Seok-joon, head of the Dong-gu Office, said, "It is a place to listen to the valuable opinions of residents in the development of airport traces. If a global tourism, commercial, and high-tech industrial district based on future mobility infrastructure is created in neighboring areas, including 2.1 million pyeong of airport trace, I am confident that a new growth base will be established across Daegu and Gyeongbuk beyond Dong-gu. "We will take the opportunity of the debate to ensure that there will be no disruptions in the development of airport trace sites," he said.
