[시사뉴스 강영진 기자] 대구시교육청(교육감 강은희)은 22일 오후 3시 호텔 수성에서 제86회 전국시도교육감협의회 총회를 개최한다고 밝혔다.
전국시도교육감협의회는 전국 시·도교육청 상호 간 교류와 협력을 증진하고, 지방교육자치의 확립과 발전을 도모하기 위해 운영하고 있으며, 대정부와의 소통 협력 및 유관기관 단체와의 긴밀한 협력체계 구축에도 힘쓰고 있다.
22일 협의회에서는 17개 시ㆍ도 교육감이 참석한 가운데 시·도별 개별로 운영되는 교원배상책임보험을 통합·일괄가입하는 방안을 논의하는 등 10개 안건을 심의할 예정이다.
안건 심의에 이어, 강은희 교육감은 ‘생각을 꺼내는 교육 국제 바칼로레아(IB)’를 주제로 IB교육 전반에 대해 강의를 할 계획이다.
다음날 23일에는 IB 월드스쿨 인증학교인 사대부초·중·고등학교를 방문해 IB프로그램 수업을 참관한다.
특히, 이번 9월 총회는 당초 전라북도교육청 주관으로 열릴 예정이었으나, IB교육에 대한 전국적인 높은 관심과 학교 현장을 보고 싶어하는 시·도교육청의 의견을 받아들여 긴급히 대구시교육청에서 주관하기로 했다.
이로 인해, 전국 시·도교육청에서는 시도교육감협의회 총회와는 별개로 23일 2일차 IB학교 방문만을 위해 서울, 부산, 대전, 경기, 충북, 충남, 전북 등 전국의 장학진들이 IB프로그램 수업을 참관한다.
강은희 교육감은 “이번 총회가 전국 시·도교육청의 IB교육에 대한 관심으로 대구에서 개최되는 만큼, 학생 스스로 배우는 방법을 학습하도록 하는 IB교육이 앞으로 전국적으로 확산되는 계기가 될 것으로 기대한다”고 말했다.

On the 22nd, the council will deliberate on 10 agendas, including discussions on integrating and collecting teachers' liability insurance, which is operated individually by cities and provinces, with 17 superintendents of cities and provinces attending.
Following the deliberation of the agenda, Superintendent Kang Eun-hee plans to give a lecture on the overall IB education under the theme of "Education International Baccalaureate (IB)."
On the 23rd of the next day, he will visit Sadaebu Elementary, Middle, and High School, an IB World School certification school, to observe IB program classes.
In particular, the general meeting was originally scheduled to be held under the supervision of the Jeollabuk-do Office of Education, but it was decided to be urgently organized by the Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education after accepting high national interest in IB education and opinions from the city and provincial offices of education.
For this reason, scholars from all over the country, including Seoul, Busan, Daejeon, Gyeonggi, Chungbuk, Chungnam, and Jeonbuk, will attend IB program classes for the second day of IB school on the 23rd, apart from the general meeting of the provincial and provincial education councils.
Superintendent Kang Eun-hee said, "As the general meeting will be held in Daegu due to the interest in IB education by metropolitan and provincial offices of education nationwide, we expect IB education to spread nationwide in the future.
