[시사뉴스 강영진 기자] 11월 8일 예천천문우주센터(센터장 조재성, 이하 센터)에서 이벤트로 개기월식 관측회를 개최한다.
당일 개기월식은 월출 때부터 부분식으로 진행되고 개기식은 7시 16분경 시작하여 오후 8시경에 지구 그림자의 가장 중심에 들어가게 된다. 센터에는 오후 6시부터 입장가능하고 7시부터는 ‘나는 날마다 우주여행을 한다’의 저자이기도 한 조재성 센터장이 월식과 인류사에 얽힌 재미있는 천문강연을 달빛 아래에서 진행한다.
행사는 센터내 우주환경체험관의 타워 전망대에서 진행될 예정인데, 지상 70 미터 높이에 있어서 동쪽 지평선에서 달이 떠오를 때부터 관측이 가능하고, 날이 어두어지면 우주에 떠 있는 기분을 느낄 수 있는 특별한 공간이다.
센터 관계자에 따르면 개기월식은 맨눈이나 쌍안경 정도로도 충분히 즐길 수 있는 천문현상이기 때문에 어디에서나 쉽게 관측할 수 있다고 한다.
다음 개기월식은 2년 5개월 뒤 2025년 3월 14일이다.

On that day, the total lunar eclipse will be held as a partial eclipse from the sunrise, and the total eclipse will begin at around 7:16 p.m. and will be at the center of the Earth's shadow around 8 p.m. Jo Jae-sung, director of the center, who is also the author of "I Travel in Space every day" from 6 p.m. and from 7 p.m., will hold an interesting astronomical lecture on lunar eclipse and human history under the moonlight.
The event will be held at the Tower Observatory of the Space Environment Experience Center in the center, which is 70 meters above the ground and can be observed from the time the moon rises on the eastern horizon, and it is a special space where you can feel floating in space when it gets dark.
According to the center official, the total lunar eclipse is an astronomical phenomenon that can be enjoyed with bare eyes or binoculars, so it can be easily observed anywhere.
The next total lunar eclipse is March 14, 2025, two years and five months later.
