[시사뉴스 강영진 기자] 홍준표 대구시장은 주요 법안 및 정부 예산안 처리 등이 본격화될 국회일정에 총력 대응을 당부했다.
대구시는 10월 26일(수) 오전 8시 국회의원 회관(제3식당)에서 대구 지역 국회의원들과 내년도 국비확보 및 주요 정책현안을 논의하는 예산정책협의회를 개최했다.
이날 회의에는 김용판 국민의힘 대구시당위원장과 주호영 국민의힘 원내대표를 비롯해 윤재옥 의원, 김상훈 의원, 임병헌 의원, 이인선 의원, 강대식 의원, 양금희 의원, 김승수 의원, 홍석준 의원과 대구 출신 비례대표 의원인 서정숙 의원, 조명희 의원, 한무경 의원이 참석했다.
홍준표 시장은 모두 발언을 통해 “어젯밤 일어난 매천시장 화재는 다행히 인명피해가 없었다며, 아침 긴급대책회의를 통해 필요한 조치와 지원책을 마련하겠다”고 밝히고, “이제 곧 각 상임위에서 예산 심사가 본격적으로 시작되는데 지역의원님들이 나서서 힘을 실어 달라”고 지역 의원들의 역할을 강조했다.
한편, 회의에 참석한 김용판 시당위원장은 “대구 시민들이 시장님의 파워풀하고 기발한 현안 해결 방식과 정책 추진에 크게 지지하고 기대하고 있다”며, “국회에서도 최선을 다해 대구가 웅비하도록 힘을 보태겠다”고 말했다.
주호영 원내대표는 “지금은 신공항 조기완성, 7개 군부대 이전 후적지 등 대구의 운명이 바뀌는 기로에 있다”며 “군위군 편입 법률안은 무난한 통과가 전망된다. 통합신공항 특별법도 차질없이 진행되어 3대 도시의 명성을 되찾을 수 있도록 각자 위치에서 최선을 다해 이번 정기 국회에서 가시적 성과를 가져오겠다”고 화답했다.
마지막으로 홍준표 시장은 “대구 미래 50년 토대를 마련하기 위해 대구경북통합신공항 특별법과 군위군 편입 법률안 통과가 최우선 돼야 한다”고 강조하며 “남은 국토위 통과에 한마음이 되어 도와달라”고 당부했다.

The Daegu Metropolitan Government held a budget policy council with lawmakers in Daegu at 8 a.m. on October 26 (Wed) to discuss next year's national budget and major policy issues.
Representatives from Daegu, including Kim Yong-pan, chairman of the People's Power, and Joo Ho-young, floor leader of the People's Power, Yoon Jae-ok, Kim Sang-hoon, Lim Byung-hun, Lee In-sun, Kang Dae-sik, Yang Geum-hee, Kim Seung-soo, Hong Seok-joon, and proportional representatives from Daegu, Seo Jeong-sook, Cho Myoung-hee, and Han Moo-kyung.
Mayor Hong Joon Pyo said in a statement, "Fortunately, the fire at the Maecheon Market last night was not damaged, and we will come up with necessary measures and support measures through the morning emergency meeting," and stressed the role of local lawmakers, "The budget review will begin in earnest soon."
Meanwhile, Kim Yong-pan, chairman of the city's party committee, said, "Daegu citizens are greatly supporting and expecting the mayor's powerful and ingenious way of solving pending issues and implementing policies," and added, "We will do our best to help Daegu flourish in the National Assembly."
Joo Ho-young, floor leader, said, "Now, Daegu's fate is at a crossroads, including the early completion of the new airport and the relocation of seven military units," adding, "The bill to incorporate the military is expected to pass smoothly. The special law on the integrated new airport will also proceed smoothly, and we will do our best to bring tangible results at the regular National Assembly this time so that the reputation of the three major cities can be restored.
Finally, Mayor Hong Joon Pyo stressed, "To lay the foundation for the next 50 years in Daegu, passing the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Integrated New Airport Special Act and the Military Security Forces Act should be the top priority," and asked, "Please help us pass the remaining Land Commission."
