[시사뉴스 강영진 기자] 대구시교육청(교육감 강은희)은 ‘독도의 날(10월 25일)’을 맞이하여 우리땅 독도에 대한 관심과 사랑을 되새기고자 독도사랑 티셔츠를 입고 근무하는 ‘독도 사랑의 날’ 행사를 갖는다.
‘독도의 날’은 1900년 고종황제가 독도영유권칙령을 반포한 것을 기념해 온국민 하나되기 운동을 펼치는 날이다. 대구시교육청도 이에 동참해 시교육청, 교육지원청 직원과 교육청을 방문하는 민원인, 그리고 학생들에게 독도에 대한 올바른 인식과 관심 그리고 사랑을 심어주기 위해 행사를 실시한다.
특히, 대구교육청 직원 50여 명은 독도에 대한 관심과 사랑을 되새기고자 “대한민국 교육수도 대구” 표지석 앞에 모여 ‘독도 사랑 결의 대회’를 가질 예정이다.
강은희 교육감은 “독도의 날 행사를 통해 직원뿐만 아니라 학생들이 독도에 대한 올바른 이해와 관심을 갖는 계기가 되길 바란다”며, “독도의 날을 맞아 다시 한 번 독도의 역사적, 지리적, 환경적 가치를 되새겨 보는 시간을 가졌으면 좋겠다”고 말했다.

"Dokdo Day" is a day when the whole nation is united in commemoration of Emperor Gojong's promulgation of the Dokdo Decree in 1900. The Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education will also participate in the event to instill the right perception, interest, and love for Dokdo among the city's education office, employees of the education support office, civil petitioners visiting the office, and students.
In particular, about 50 employees of the Daegu Office of Education will gather in front of the sign of "Daegu, the capital of education in Korea," to reflect on their interest and love for Dokdo, and hold a "Dokdo Love Resolution Contest."
Kang Eun-hee, superintendent of education, said, "I hope the Dokdo Day event will serve as an opportunity for students as well as employees to understand and pay attention to Dokdo. I hope we will have time to reflect on the historical, geographical, and environmental values of Dokdo again on Dokdo Day.
