[시사뉴스 정윤철 기자]  한국동서발전㈜이 지역사회를 위해  ‘제 21차 사랑의 헌혈 릴레이’를 전개한다고 14일 밝혔다.

신용민 동서발전 사회공헌부장은 “지역사회에 혈액이 부족하다는 말에 캠페인을 시작했다"며 "임직원들의 자발적인 참여로 진행하는 사랑의 헌혈 릴레이를 통해 생명을 나누는 문화를 확산하는데 보탬이 되고싶다” 전했다.

사랑의 헌혈 릴레이는 동서발전의 전사적인 헌혈 동참 캠페인으로 이번 릴레이는 당일 본사를 시작으로 2월 한 달 동안 울산·당진·동해·음성·일산 등 지역 사업소에서 진행된다.

동서발전은 헌혈 캠페인을 통해 지역사회 혈액 수급문제 해소에 힘을 보태고 임직원, 일반시민에게 헌혈기부 활동 확산을 기대하고 있다.

동사의 헌혈캠페인은 2014년부터 총 4,780명 임직원이 동참, 고통받는 환아에게 1,425장의 헌혈증을 전달하는 등 생명나눔을 실천하는 상생의 사회공헌활동을 이어가고있다.

Korea East-West Power Corporation (KEPCO) announced on Thursday that it is organizing the 21st Love Blood Donation Relay for the local community.

"We started the campaign when we heard that there was a shortage of blood in the community," said Credit Min Lee, head of the Social Contribution Department at KEPCO. "We want to help spread the culture of sharing life through the Love Blood Donation Relay, which is organized with the voluntary participation of employees."

The Blood Donation Relay is a company-wide blood donation campaign of Dongseo Power, and the relay will be held at regional offices including Ulsan, Dangjin, Donghae, Eumseong, and Ilsan throughout the month of February, starting from the headquarters on the same day.

Through the blood donation campaign, Dongseo Power hopes to help solve the blood supply problem in local communities and spread blood donation activities to employees and citizens.

Since 2014, a total of 4,780 employees have participated in the company's blood donation campaign, delivering 1,425 blood donation certificates to sick children.
