[시사뉴스 김남규 기자] 우리금융지주(회장 손태승)는 3천억원 규모의 원화 신종자본증권(조건부자본증권) 발행에 성공했다고 10일 밝혔다.

금번 발행을 통해 우리금융지주 자기자본비율(BIS비율)은 22년말 기준으로 약 15bp 가량 상승할 것으로 예상된다.

지난 1일 수요예측에서 신고금액 기준 3.74대 1의 역대 최고 참여율로 모집 완료했으며, 그 결과 우리금융지주가 예상했던 공모희망금리 4.70% ~ 5.60%의 하단보다 낮은 4.65%(스프레드 1.41%)로 발행금리가 최종 결정되었다.

특히, 해당 스프레드는 우리금융지주 신종자본증권 발행 사상 최저 수준으로 당사에 대한 시장의 뜨거운 관심을 입증했다.

우리금융지주 관계자는 “연초 금융지주회사 신종자본증권 발행 물량 집중에도 불구, 투자자 대상 IR을 통해 한 단계 업그레이드 된 회사의 이익 창출력 등을 적극 알린 결과로 발행에 성공했다”고 말했다.

이어, “올해 경기침체 우려 등 금융환경 불확실성에 대비한 지속적인 리스크 관리와 손실흡수능력 확충을 통해, 지속성장 가능한 금융지주회사 체제를 공고히 할 것”이라고 밝혔다.

Woori Financial Holdings (Chairman Son Tae-seung) announced on Tuesday that it has successfully issued KRW 300 billion worth of Korean won new capital securities (conditional capital securities).

The issuance is expected to increase Woori Financial's capitalization ratio (BIS ratio) by about 15 basis points as of the end of 2022.

The issuance was completed with a record participation rate of 3.74 to 1 based on the amount declared in the demand forecast on the 1st, and as a result, the issue rate was finalized at 4.65% (spread of 1.41%), which is lower than the lower end of Woori Financial's expected public offering range of 4.70% to 5.60%. 

In particular, the spread is the lowest in Woori Financial Holdings' history of issuing new capital securities, demonstrating the market's strong interest in the company.

An official from Woori Financial Holdings said, "Despite the high volume of new capital securities issued by financial holding companies at the beginning of the year, we succeeded in issuing the bonds as a result of actively communicating the company's profit-generating capabilities, which have been upgraded to the next level, through IR for investors."

"We will continue to manage risks and expand our loss-absorbing capacity in preparation for uncertainties in the financial environment, including concerns about a recession this year, to solidify a sustainable financial holding company system."
