[시사뉴스 강영진 기자] 홍준표 대구시장은 22일(화) 주호영 국민의힘 원내대표와 송언석 원내수석 부대표, 김상훈(기재)·이만희(행안)·김용판(행안)·김정재·강대식(국토) 의원과 대통령실 이관섭 국정기획수석, 기재·국방·행안·국토부 차관 등이 참석하는 당정협의회를 개최하여 통합신공항 특별법안 연내 통과를 합의하였다.
홍준표 시장은 통합신공항 건설은 대규모 사업비가 투입되어 참여하는 민간사업자의 리스크가 큰 만큼 원활하고 신속한 사업을 위해 특별법 제정을 통해 국가재정 지원이라는 보증이 필요하며 현재 기부대양여는 수익 시 국가에 귀속하고 부족할 경우에는 민간사업자가 부담을 해아하는 불합리한 사업구조이므로 정부의 전향적인 자세를 주문하였다.
주호영 원내대표는 원칙적으로 도심지에 있는 군공항은 국가주도 이전이 바람직하므로 향후 광주, 수원 이전 관련 법안에 대해서 반대하지 않고 조건이 된다면 동시 통과도 찬성이라고 밝혔다.
회의에 참석한 어명소 국토부 차관은 군공항 이전은 소관 사항이 아니라서 소극적이었지만 신공항이 건설될 수 있도록 적극적으로 노력하기로 하였으며 기재·행안·국방부 차관들도 기부대양여사업의 특수성을 인정하면서 다른 군사시설은 기부대양여 원칙을 고수하되 기부대양여 차액 부분 국가 지원 및 예타면제에 대해서도 수용하기로 했다.
특히 이 회의에는 대통령실 이관섭 국정기획수석도 참석해 법안 통과에 힘을 실어주었으며, “이제 한걸음씩 앞으로 나아가는 것이 중요한 만큼 이번 법안처리에 주력하도록 적극 협조하겠다”고 말했다.
한편 홍 시장은 ‘대구-광주의 합리적 연대’를 위해 이번 주 25일 강기정 광주시장을 만나러 직접 광주로 향한다.

Mayor Hong Joon Pyo ordered the government to take a proactive stance because the construction of an integrated new airport requires a guarantee of state financial support through the enactment of a special law for smooth and rapid projects.
Joo Ho-young, the floor leader, said, "In principle, it is desirable to move military airports in the city center, so I do not oppose bills related to the relocation of Gwangju and Suwon in the future, and I agree to pass them simultaneously if conditions arise."
Vice Land Minister Eo Myung-bak, who attended the meeting, said, "Although relocating the military airport is not a matter of jurisdiction, we will actively try to build a new airport. Other military facilities will adhere to the principle of donation, but accept state support and exemption."
In particular, Lee Kwan-seop, senior presidential secretary for state planning, also attended the meeting to support the passage of the bill, and said, "Now that it is important to take a step forward, we will actively cooperate to focus on handling the bill."
Meanwhile, Mayor Hong will head to Gwangju directly to meet Gwangju Mayor Kang Ki-jung on the 25th of this week for "reasonable solidarity between Daegu and Gwangju."
