[Reporter Jung Yoon-chul] Ulsan Dong-gu Office held a resident meeting at 11:30 a.m. on October 5 to mark the 100th day of the 9th inauguration of the 8th popular election.
The meeting was attended by seven representatives from all walks of life, including parents, workers, self-employed people, retirees, the elderly, young people, and parents of the disabled in Dong-gu.
Kim Jong-hoon, head of Dong-gu Office, invited representatives from all walks of life to the inauguration ceremony on July 1 and heard the wishes of residents on the inauguration stage. To reflect on the 100th day of his inauguration, he called in representatives of residents who said their wishes at the inauguration ceremony.
Lee Hae-kyung, who runs a photo studio, said, "I am feeling the effects of the declining birth rate and the economic recession. "The number of people taking pictures of children has decreased significantly," he said.
Noh Mi-jung, a parent of a multi-child family, said, "Since we have multiple children, education costs are high, but Dong-gu lacks experience facilities that are inexpensive and excellent in educational programs. "If the number of educational infrastructure and sports programs increases, more people will want to settle in Dong-gu," he said.
Yoon Jong-sung, a retiree, said, "Dong-gu often sees retired people gathering in parks and beaches to spend their free time, and I hope there are many spaces and facilities for retirees to spend their time profitably."
Kim Jong-hoon, head of Dong-gu Office, said, "Dong-gu still lacks overall infrastructure such as welfare and sports." When the city creates a new facility, it is built in Nam-gu or Jung-gu for "accessibility," but from our point of view, it is an administration that does not consider the accessibility of Dong-gu residents. "We will continue to make efforts in the administration to increase the satisfaction of our residents' lives and improve settlement conditions," he said.
